Texting in Social Situations

QUESTIONS:

1. What are your thoughts on texting in social situations?
2. Do you find it rude if you’re talking to somebody and they proceed to text continuously on their cell phone?
3. If you had to come up with a list of five etiquette rules for texting, what would they be?

ANSWERS:

1. My thoughts on texting in social situations are that it should not be done when you should be occupied with something actually more important and that even though it increases you social life it decreases your physical socialism.

2. I don't find rude if I'm talking to somebody and they continue texting, because if they need to have another conversation with someone else it's fine with me, though it is their loss for what I'm telling them. :p

3. Five etiquette rules for texting are:
1) if you are texting while someone is trying to talk to you, put your phone away until the conversation has ended, then you can proceed texting.
2) if for some reason the boss of a work space is going to fire somebody they should ask to have a talk with them beforehand and at the given time tell them they are fired.
3) if you are talking to someone and you receive a text from someone else politely ask you friend to hold up for a couple of seconds to check whether or not the text is important, if not hold off the texting and continue with your conversation with your friend.
4) extremely important conversations should be talked to in person (a love letter or break up), though asking a quick question or giving a quick quote can bee given through a text.
5) your cellphone should be put on silent if it can to make it easier to ignore or refer to the text later.
